The easy way to Yuletide
Article Abstract:
Many households in the UK decide not to have a real Christmas tree, as these can often be a disappointment. It is now possible to purchase many different attractive artificial Christmas trees, and these have actually become much more fashionable than real trees. There has been particular demand in the run-up to Christmas 1997 for a fibre-optic shimmer effect tree with tips that change colour when they are stroked. This is sold by Selfridge's and other large stores. Unusual tree decorations are also very popular.

Money grows on trees
Article Abstract:
A house which has a well-tended garden will sell much more quickly and for a considerably higher price than one which has a neglected garden, according to UK estate agents. Potential purchasers tend to react very badly to gardens which are badly designed, unfinished or sloping, and are most attracted to gardens which are of a good size and have borders which are not too deep. Some vendors wish to take plants from their garden with them to their new home, but this intention must be detailed well in advance.
