'All I ever did was arrange adoptions for mothers who would otherwise have had an abortion. What's wrong with that?' (views on activities of adoption agent John Davies)
Article Abstract:
John Davies, who runs a company registered in the British Virgin Islands, has sent many babies from eastern European orphanages to be adopted in Europe and North America, charging the new parents $20,000. His supporters believe that he is removing orphans from a hopeless situation, giving them the chance of a new life with loving parents, and believe that his unorthodox methods are justified. Others claim that he pays very poor women to give up their babies and is simply trading in human life.

Nazi group behind night of violence
Article Abstract:
The violence caused by fascists at the recent football match between England and the Republic of Ireland was intended to disrupt the peace process. The trouble makers chanted anti-IRA slogans, and were having heated debates about politics rather than about anything to do with football. It is thought that the trouble was instigated by the right-wing extremist organisation Combat 18, which has close connections with the Ulster Defence Association and the Ulster Freedom Fighters.
