Can DNA convict a 16-year-old corpse?
Article Abstract:
Some observers believe that DNA testing will not provide conclusive evidence about the identity of a corpse currently being exhumed in Strathclyde, Scotland. Police believe that it could be that of 'Bible John,' who murdered three women, but this case could highlight the limitations of DNA work. The remains are now 16 years old, and some scientists feel that there will not be enough DNA left to produce a reliable test result.

Military music school sounds note of regret
Article Abstract:
The Royal Military School of Music at Twickenham, south-west London, England, is to go as the Army's 60 bands are to be halved in the defence cuts. Traditionally, military bands were considered to provide regiments with spirit. Some military bands have been too small to be heard, so fewer, larger bands will be an improvement. The Arts Council felt that Army bands were of national value, and a source of skill.
