The singing will never be done
Article Abstract:
The classical legend of Orpheus has been a favourite subject of opera and music for many generations. A number of these tales are being revived at present. Kent Opera, for example, is to stage a performance of 'Orfeo,' which was premiered in 1607, while the English National Opera is involved in a new production of Gluck's 'Orfeo ed Euridice,' from 1762. The London Philharmonic is performing Haydn's last opera, 'L'anima del filosofo,' and has produced a new recording of the same work.

Roberto Alagna is the other tip to join Pavarotti and Co
Article Abstract:
It is possible to sing anything if you have a careful conductor, according to tenor Roberto Alagna, who rejects suggestions that he cannot really cope with Verdi arias. He takes a relaxed view of the fact that he and his wife Angela Gheorghiu, a soprano, have received extensive media attention. He regards himself as very lucky to be able to perform many roles with his wife, especially as she provides much more feedback about how he is performing than other partners would.

A hunk of best Argentine beefcake with a taste for mozzarella singing
Article Abstract:
Argentine tenor Jose Cura did not really begin studying singing properly until 1986. Even then, it took some time for him to become convinced that he could establish a career as a tenor. He first gained widespread acclaim in 1992, when he sang in Hans Werner Henze's 'Pollicino' in Verona, Italy. He won the Placido Domingo Singing Competition in 1994, but is keen to emphasize that he does not regard himself as Domingo's protege.
