'There's something wrong with your baby ....' (dealing with news of a foetal abnormality; case studies)
Article Abstract:
Parents who are informed that their unborn child has a serious abnormality must make the very difficult decision about whether to have the pregnancy terminated. Some parents feel that they would be unable to cope with a severely handicapped child, so make the decision to have a termination. In other cases, the child is so severely damaged that it would not survive in any case, but the pregnancy still needs to be terminated. Some parents feel that they do not have an automatic right to a healthy child, so decide to go ahead with the birth.

Popping pills can cause you real pain
Article Abstract:
Taking large numbers of painkillers to try to eliminate frequent headaches can in fact make the headaches worse, rather than better, as it can produce a condition known as analgesia-induced headache. People who suffer frequent headaches may be tempted to take more and more painkillers as the advised dose becomes less effective, and the high drug doses themselves then begin to induce headaches. The only option in this situation is to stop taking painkillers, but this may not produce an immediate improvement.

Out went pizzas and pasta - and with them, the pain
Article Abstract:
Many people who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis consider changing their diet in order to relieve the extremely distressing symptoms. However, even experts cannot agree about which type of diet is the most effective. Recent research has looked closely at which foods should be avoided by individual patients. A very limited diet is followed at first, and foods are then gradually re-introduced one by one. Scientists currently believe that a fish oil diet is most effective.
