This man is so sick of politicians he has set up his own party. But who would vote for it?
Article Abstract:
The Albion Party is a new force in UK politics, according to its founder, John Muir. It claims to have 2,000 members, and believes that it can win at least one seat at the forthcoming general election. Its policies include the UK leaving the European Union in order to regain its sense of identity, encouraging small businesses and cooperatives and setting up car-free centres by the end of the 1990s. It is also keen to see the creation of a written constitution and the decriminalisation of marijuana for medicinal purposes.

Britain enjoys a summer of money
Article Abstract:
It is estimated that one-third of all adult Britons will benefit from the demutualisation of building societies and insurance companies including Woolwich, Northern Rock and Norwich Union. Most people who receive a windfall pay-out will choose to save the money, but up to one quarter will be spent within a year. Most of those who spend the money will use it for a holiday or improvements to their home. It will be less common for the money to be used for debt repayment or extra investments.

Inside story on the new high fashion
Article Abstract:
Interior design and other aspects of domesticity are becoming more popular in the United Kingdom. This trend has been attributed to a revival in the housing market, but is also seen as a way of expressing individuality. Television programs and magazines specialising in interior design have contributed to a new awareness of design in the home. Many homeowners are attempting sophisticated projects, and interior designers also appear to be more in demand.
