UK: RECORD CAR PRODUCTION IN MARCH 2000
Article Abstract:
Total UK car production in the six months to March 2000 increased by 12.1% on the previous six months; with an increase of 41.6% in commercial vehicle export production. It is thought that the growth was largely a result of the success of UK-built models. In March 2000 a record 183,787 cars were produced, and although production for the UK market declined by 1.3%, there was a 14.6% increase in production for export.
