Hitting the right notes
Article Abstract:
Online music store CDnow was created because there was a need for a better music store, rather than to make money, according to co-founder Jason Olim. He and his twin brother Matthew felt that there was a gap in the music retail market that urgently needed filling. He is particularly proud of CDnow's customer service, with customer service representatives being music experts. He feels that the depth of the catalogue and the level of expertise offered makes CDnow particularly attractive to older people.

US: MUSIC INDUSTRY FEAR OVER NAPSTER PROGRAM
Article Abstract:
The record industry is becoming increasingly concerned over the US-based Napster program, which allows Internet users to access a massive database of MP3 files and download them. The National Recording Industry Association of America is planning legal action against the site, partly because people can obtain and hear music without having to pay the owner of the copyright. Rapper, Dr Dre, and heavy metal band, Metallica, have both succeeded in removing users from the service.
