The lessons of Caroline's tragedy
Article Abstract:
The case of Caroline Beale, who murdered her new-born baby while suffering from severe mental illness, highlights the generally very poor treatment which the mentally ill receive. The mentally ill are frequently treated as if they are faking illness, and are not encouraged to talk about their feelings. In some cases, their actions even leave them vulnerable to criminal proceedings.

New York invites its murderers to take a seat
Article Abstract:
New York is set to become the 38th state to allow the execution of convicted murderers.
