WORLD: NEW RESEARCH INTO EATING HABITS
Article Abstract:
New research into eating habits revealed on 17 November 1999 claimed that men were more influenced than women to false labels on food, with the findings in general indicating that makes are becoming more aware of their bodies and health. Research revealed that men asked to consume a low-calorie, low-fat lunch which wrongly claimed to be high in both calories and fat were not as hungry and subsequently consumed fewer snacks when they were handed the same foods properly described as being low in fat and calories. Women consumed the same quantity of snacks irrespective of how many calories and fat was contained in their lunch. One factor driving the trend is the increase in men's magazines containing articles on health.
