What Sarah did next
Article Abstract:
Writing a play is an extremely difficult task, and media reaction makes no real difference to this, according to Sarah Kane, who was widely criticised for the strong images in her first play, 'Blasted.' Her latest play is 'Phaedra's Love,' which deals with love and faith against a background of serious depression. This is a very personal subject to Kane, who has a considerable vulnerability which is usually disguised with a mask of strong self-confidence.

'Essex girl writes play' shock horror
Article Abstract:
Humour is very important part of successful writing, according to playwright Rebecca Prichard. There is not as much humour in her latest play, 'Fairgame,' as in 'Essex Girls,' partly because this deals with the very serious issue of teenage rape. The play has attracted considerable controversy, but Prichard found when she took a first draft into schools that she was writing scenes with which many teenage girls were familiar.
