When divorce is best for children
Article Abstract:
It is very difficult to establish whether the children of divorced parents are negatively affected by the break-up of their parents' marriage. However, new research from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation indicates that material deprivation has a more negative impact on children than divorce. Against this background, the government should be focusing on the impoverishment of women and children, rather than on encouraging families to stay together. The research also indicates that step-families may not necessarily be good for children.

Article Abstract:
The Royal Festival Hall in London, England, is currently staging an exhibition entitled 'Yoko Ono and the Fluxus Movement.' This looks at the influence of the 1960s movement which aimed to remove heroism and pretentiousness from art. Key elements of Fluxus included the New Music of John Cage, the work of Joseph Beuys and the happenings of Yves Klein. Yoko Ono, who was herself misunderstood by other members of the movement, was constantly laughing at herself and at the pomposity of the male art world.
