Why aren't people snapping up country homes in East Anglia?
Article Abstract:
Country houses in the county of East Anglia are now on sale for relatively low prices, but there is still little interest from potential purchasers. Prices were very high in the late 1980s, but it is clear that this does not necessarily mean that prices will be high again. There are strong local differences within the county, with demand being low in areas which are away from the coast and away from normal commuting areas. In contrast, demand is very high in other parts of the region.

When your haus is not your own
Article Abstract:
People in continental European countries such as Germany have never come to see home ownership as a quick way of making money, and it is very common to rent a home, even among wealthier people. Only around 48% of Germans own their homes, compared with 70% in the UK, and the private rented sector in Germany remains very strong. This attitude is starting to become more common in the UK, where people no longer see home ownership as the most secure route to wealth.

The loft generation
Article Abstract:
Empty warehouses offer considerable potential for conversion into attractive homes. Buyers welcome the freedom which such buildings offer to create an individual home, and developers and estate agents have found that converted warehouses are still in great demand. Most buyers of such accommodation tend to be in their 30s, childless and work in media-related industries.
