Why do we find it so difficult to act our age?
Article Abstract:
There is confusion about middle age. Petula Clark, 62-year-old singer, gives the impression of being young, whilst Dr. David Starkey, aged 51, a panelist on 'Moral Maze', Radio 4 programme, gives the impression of being prematurely aged. According to Starkey, the way he was brought up conditioned him to be middle-aged, and he was once described as an aged young man. He became more mature, whilst Clark, who had a strict upbringing, took the opportunity to compensate for her lost youth.

He should be so lucky part II
Article Abstract:
Composer Pete Waterman believes that he has compromised too much since 1993, with his deal with Warner Music going against his basic instincts. He is a firm believer in honesty, and does not feel that his wealth makes his views more correct than those of anybody else. He does not intend to gradually cut back on the amount of work he does, and remains very excited about the various projects in which he is involved. Indeed, he feels that he is still a child at heart.

The modern lad has it bad
Article Abstract:
It is becoming increasingly recognised that depression can be a serious problem in men in their mid-twenties. This is the time when men start to establish a career and to settle down to marriage and having children. However, at the same time they must also face job insecurity, and this can make them feel unwilling to take on any commitments. Some men respond by trying to continue to act as if they were still teenagers, and this can cause a crisis in later life.
