Research demonstrates that more than 50% of female United Kingdom residents purchased one or more outerwear clothing items from nationwide retailer Marks and Spencer PLC in 1998. An increasing number of middle-aged women are buying fashionable clothing from high street stores such as Next. Around 72% women purchase clothes because they are obliged to. An increasing number of high street stores stock clothes designed for the larger woman.
