Martin Seymour-Smith
Article Abstract:
Poet and writer Martin Seymour-Smith developed a friendship with poet Robert Graves at an early age. This friendship was to benefit both men, and Graves treated Seymour-Smith as an equal. Seymour-Smith gained the attention of other independent poets with his first books of verse, which were published in pamphlet form in the 1950s. He regarded himself as belonging to a tradition of English poetry, but did not actively seek poetic fame.
