All Creatures Great and Small
Article Abstract:
Growth in animals can occur without cell division but simply because cells can grow. While lots of research has been done on cell division, not much attention has been paid to the regulation of cell growth. Experiments on the fruit fly Drosophila have identified a signaling molecule, Drosophila S6 kinase, which seems to control cell growth.

Exploring the Systems of Life
Article Abstract:
The reaction of cytokine molecules to drugs entering the body and its ability to aid in the healing process is given. The research has prompted biologists and scientists to develop drugs which interact with the molecule without killing the cells off. The ways in different cellular players work with each other is given.

Complementary DNA for 12-kilodalton B cell growth factor: misassigned
Article Abstract:
Because research has failed to reveal evidence of a link between 12-kD B cell growth factor (BCGF) and the cloned cDNA, 12-kD BCGF should not be identified as a cloned cytokine.
