Congress extends TEA-21 through May 2005
Article Abstract:
Congress once again temporarily extended the nation's surface transportation program, the sixth time in the past year it has done so after failing to reauthorize the transportation equity act for 21st century (TEA-21) before the end of September 2004, its date of expiry. As of mid-October 2004, no agreement had been reached by lawmakers in the house and the Senate as to whether action would be taken to reauthorize TEA-21 during the lame-duck session, which was expected to begin in mid-November 2004.
