Fatigue damage initiation in Waspaloy under complex cyclic loading

Article Abstract:

Experimental and theoretical viewpoints were used to study the low-cycle fatigue damage initiation in Waspaloy under complex cyclic loading. Waspaloy are tubular specimens. The study placed emphasis on the transgranular damage development and the results were compared with those found in existing literature. The damage initiation lives as well as the directional aspect of the damage distribution were predicted by the use of a physico-phenomenological model, which was based on the slip theory.

Article Abstract:

An experimental methodology of the large deformation deformation of cylinders under constrained sides and end conditions are presented. A new metallic energy absorbing device is proposed in which the large plastic collapse of cylinders with constrained sides and end conditions is studied under lateral compressive load from experimental and numerical points of view.

A comparison of two self-consistent models to predict the cyclic behavior of polycrystals

Article Abstract:

The effect of the interaction law on the predicted non-linear overall and local behaviors of FCC polycrystals of two well-established self-consistence models is examined under uni, bi, and triaxial cyclic loading conditions. The effects of loading complexity, aggregate type and the kinematic hardening on the polycrystals responses are investigated for each model.
