Implementing European Quality Award in a global high tech company
Article Abstract:
An empirical case study of a company involved in the electrotechnical industry was conducted to develop a systematic measurement for evaluating customer satisfaction according to the standards of the European Quality Award. Two methods have been developed, namely, the questionnaire approach and the sales personnel client-interview approach. The first approach uses a questionnaire with which customers are asked about their experiences of the delivery of the products and customer service while the second approach requires sales personnel to inquire about shopping customers' satisfaction

Integrating R&D with company efforts to improve quality
Article Abstract:
A method by which research and development or engineering managers can integrate their function's operations with company efforts to improve quality is presented. The general principles on quality improvement andhow these principles can help company efforts and research and development operations in improving quality is discussed and explored. Research and development managers can improve quality by improving it within the laboratory;by working with other functions in the company; and by exploiting the potentialof CAD/CAM more effectively.

Implementing TQM in the Department of Defense: current efforts and research agenda
Article Abstract:
The Department of Defense's effort to adopt total quality management (TQM) in its operations has led to the creation of Total Quality Management Master Plan in 1988. The Total Quality Management Master Plan acts as a guiding document that directs all agencies and military departments to create and adopt TQM programs within their respective commands. The plan contains strategy that aims to promote continuous enhancement of performance on all processes, improve user satisfaction and create a viable environment for the entire work force.
