Meeting takes pulse of laser accelerators
Article Abstract:
The plasma physics div met in Louisville, KY, in Nov 1995 to discuss the development of short-pulse lasers (SPLs) and the intense electrical fields they generate in plasmas. The SPL technology would enable the development of particle accelerators that are much smaller yet much more powerful than those currently available.
