Molecular machines that control genes
Article Abstract:
Research on the biochemistry of the proteins that direct gene transcription is of vital importance to the understanding of many diverse diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disorders. Gene regulation involves the interaction between activators, coactivators, enhancers, and other proteins.

Nonviral strategies for gene therapy
Article Abstract:
Injecting 'naked' DNA and coating the DNA with nonimmunogenic lipids are two of the nonviral strategies being developed for gene therapy. These procedures differ from viral-based delivery systems in that they do not elicit an immune reaction that can destroy the vector.
