Numerical Green's function for steady-state heat conduction in heterogeneous media
Article Abstract:
A numerical Green's function for solving steady-state heat conduction problems in heterogeneous materials is presented. The method consumes a considerable amount of time in generating the matrix elements. However, it can instantly evaluate temperatures once a computer algebra system has generated the matrix elements. Its success in producing semi-analytical expressions suggest that it is suitable for sensitivity analysis.

Heat treatment of metal surfaces by a conformal electron beam
Article Abstract:
The electron beam formed between a conformal plasma cathode and a metal work piece can be used to heat treat the work piece. The requirements for heat treatment of steels to very short heating times in order to show that a plasma system based on the conformal plasma cathode may be useful for rapid austenitizing of steels is discussed.

Shape of the free surfaces of the jet in mold casting numerical modeling experiments
Article Abstract:
Experimental and numerical methods help examine the filling steps of mold casting process with special attention on the free surface shape of the filling jet. The numerical model does not include boundary layer and assumes that the fluid flow is stationary and potential. Results from the experiments and numerical modeling agree well.f
