Organizational problems of research and development
Article Abstract:
Technology-intensive firms are increasingly investing in research and development. Companies follow a technical leader, product innovator, nicher or follower type of research policy depending on company requirements. Research laboratories are either research- or development-intensive while research may be classified a basic, common elementary technology, or new product development. Research management must emphasize effective interfaces to enhance research work. Firms spend more than 10 percent of sales to cover research and development costs.
