A zebrafish genome?
Article Abstract:
A group of researchers have proposed adding another animal model, the zebrafish, to the collection of genomes mapped at the NIH's Human Genome Project. The fish's large number of transparent embryos enables researchers to see the effect of gene mutation on its developing organs.

Sizing up dung beetle evolution
Article Abstract:
Research on dung beetles indicates that males that develop outsized horns have smaller eyes. Restricting horn size results in the formation of larger eyes, supporting the evolutionary theory that enhancement of one trait may reduce another trait.
