Bitumen selection for reduction of downdrag on piles
Article Abstract:
An evaluation is presented on bitumen coatings to reduce negative skin friction on piles. While the coatings are also effective in reducing positive shaft resistance, cost is prohibitive, as the process typically requires a primer and can slow down pile driving.
