Supernova maser emission
Article Abstract:
Research on the OH 1720-MHz transition of maser emission indicates that the maser can be used to explore the molecular gas excited by supernova shocks in the galactic center at high angular resolution. The research should provide valuable data on shocked gas.

First light from a space laser
Article Abstract:
Vladimir Strelnitski and his team have discovered evidence of a space laser coming from a hydrogen gas disk surrounding a young star. The finding confirms the existence of space lasers, which were first predicted in the 1960s.

The quest for a supernova companion
Article Abstract:
A white dwarf could become an exploding supernova through the accretion of material from a companion star. Binary scenarios involving the transfer of H, HE or C+O are discussed.
