Coral reefs can be studied from undersea laboratories such as the Aquarius habitat which allows marine biologist divers to live for extended periods while conducting research. New interest and positive public relations for undersea research is an additional benefit to use of the Aquarius Habitat.

Marine managers look upstream for connections
Article Abstract:
The proper placement of marine reserves is dependent upon better knowledge and identification of the 'sources' and 'sinks' of marine larvae. This information can serve as a guide in the assessment of damage caused by exploitation and the likelihood of recovery.

Coral bleaching
Article Abstract:
Coral reef bleaching has been reported in nearly every tropical ocean region and appears to be caused by water temperatures that are two to three degrees Celsius above normal. It is not clear whether or not the warmer temperatures are caused by global warming.
