The contribution of research institutes in EUREKA projects
Article Abstract:
The success of the different projects conducted under the European Research Coordinating Agency's (EUREKA) technology initiative program can be attributed to the close technological cooperation between research institutes and industrial companies at the project level. The cooperative attitude displayed by the two sectors enabled them to promote innovative ideas which led to the development of new technologies. However, it can also be observed that the level of involvement shown by the research institutes is influenced by the perceived marketability of the technology being developed.
