The illusion of gravity
Article Abstract:
The force of gravity and one of the dimensions of space might be generated out of the peculiar interactions of particles and fields existing in a lower-dimensional realm. Some new theories of physics predict that one of the three dimensions of space could be a kind of an illusion, that in actuality all particles and fields that make up reality are moving about two-dimensional realm.

The mysteries of mass
Article Abstract:
Several physicists are hunting for an elusive particle, which would reveal the presence of a new kind of field permeating all of reality. In physicists' tentative theories about mass, Higgs field play a key role as the elementary particle masses are thought to come from the interaction with the Higgs field.

When fields collide
Article Abstract:
Research is presented on the Brans-Dicke field and the Higgs field. The former was introduced by gravitational specialists; the latter was introduced by particle physicists. Discussion includes how new generations of physicists explore links between the two theories.
