The transparent knowledge worker: Weblogs and reputation mechanisms in KM systems
Article Abstract:
Transparency in knowledge work allows for expanded perspectives on employees' initiatives as well as increased value for organizations. The rapid evolution of knowledge-based weblogs (klogs) in itself shows how useful computer applications can emerge in innovative organizations through openness and reflection. Strategies for managers and entrepreneurs to make knowledge work transparent are specified.

Local knowledge and the strategy of constructing advantage: The role of community alliances
Article Abstract:
The notion of 'constructed advantage' is developed by moving beyond the Recardian 'comparative advantage' and neo-Porterian 'competitive advantage' and by using information from a number of cities. Factors for success in local developments like leadership, infrastructure, money, people and technology are suggested.
