A personal narrative is presented describing a train journey from Montreal to Kingston, through the forested regions of Canada. Forests remain Canada's largest source of employment and export dollars and have an advantage over the mineral and oil reserves of other countries, as they are renewable.

Meditating in the country

A resident of a Nova Scotia farm relates how he tried to practice meditation in the early morning of June. He realized that meditation is quite impossible because of the many sounds of nature which always interrupts his recitation of the mantra.
