Visualizing Quasi-Particle Scattering Resonances
Article Abstract:
The Bardeen-Cooper Schrieffer (BCS) theory of quasi-particles explains conventional superconductors such as mercury and aluminum and may also be useful as a phenomenological model for high-transition temperature superconductors. Different underlaying superconducting mechanisms lead to differences between the BCS quasi-particles of high-superconductors and their conventional materials counterparts. The mechanism in high -{T.sub.c] materials are not well known.

Unification of synchrotron radiation and inverse Compton scattering
Article Abstract:
A theoretical paper published by R. Lieu and W.I. Axford in a 1993 issue of the Astrophysical Journal unites research on inverse Compton scattering and synchrotron radiation under a single theoretical framework. Lieu and Axford's contributions to theoretical physics are described.
