World power
Article Abstract:
Manufacturers worldwide have realized the significance of local distribution networks for increasing market penetration in other countries. Caterpillar, for instance, has grown to be the largest supplier of industrial power engines in Europe, since its acquisition of German engine manufacturer Krupp MaK Moteren in 1997. Wartsila, the second largest European manufacturer, is also enjoying the benefits of international influence following its signing of a joint distribution and product agreement with Cummins. The possession of effective marketing offices worldwide will ensure companies' success in the global market.

Heat exchange
Article Abstract:
Contract heat treatment services have experienced significant growth in the UK. The change is attributed to the benefits offered by subcontracting to manufacturers such as reduced costs and the removal of the burden of managing complicated heat treatment processes. This growth has also improved ties between contractors and manufacturers. The services of the Contract Heat Treatment Assn and its guidelines for determining contract heat treatment requirements are described.
