'Knowledge management practices' and path-dependency in innovation
Article Abstract:
Knowledge management practices (KMPs) differ in number, detail, and mode, depending on which firm they are applied. The number of available KMPs is increasing and firms now have many sophisticated knowledge management options to choose from. These KMPs can even be culled together and implemented as a unit wherein they would be integrated as knowledge management strategies within the firm. By shifting a company's attention from the technology to the KMPs through which they are practised, forms of path-dependence in a firm can be evaluated.

Creative adoption: the role of new technology based firms in Portugal
Article Abstract:
An analysis of Portuguese new technology-based businesses reveals that these firms are a recent phenomenon bought about by the diffusion of electronics and information technology and that these firms take on the roles of selective technology searchers and acquirers. The study reveals that these firms are more concerned with creative adoption rather than the introduction of major innovations.
