Though self-leadership: the impact of mental strategies training on employee cognition, behavior, and affect
Article Abstract:
The applicability of thought self-leadership (TSL) to an organizational setting was tested using a field study based on a training intervention. The design of the study included a training group and a control group. The responses of 48 volunteer employees to training were measured and evaluated. The results revealed that TSL increased employees' mental performance, enthusiasm for the job and job satisfaction, and reduced feelings of nervousness. TSL also improved self-efficacy and perceptions of bankruptcy.

Self-leadership and performance outcomes: the mediating influence of self-efficacy
Article Abstract:
A structural model was used to determine the relationship of self-leadership skills and self-efficacy perceptions on performance. Results show that self-efficacy directly influenced job performance while self-leadership strategies also influenced self-efficacy evaluations. Moreover, self-efficacy perceptions can fully moderate the influence of self-leadership on performance. Furthermore, it is also found that external leader behaviors influenced self-efficacy, which then affected the quality of performance.
