Assessment of professionals' and nonprofessionals' attitudes toward child abuse in Croatia
Article Abstract:
The Republic of Croatia faces an alarming increase in incidences of child abuse, which was found to be most common within family units. Although the growing social ill has caught the attention of both the public and professionals, there is no relevant data that reveals their actual perceptions of the problem. A research was conducted to determine the public's attitude toward child abuse from which prevention, identification and treatment can be based.

Article Abstract:
Law officers were surveyed to determine the techniques they used to evaluate child abuse victims. Results show that 60% of officers used anatomical dolls during evaluations with 90% trained on the use of these dolls. About 50% of officers followed a standard protocol for evaluations while 44% conducted evaluations with other people in the room. About 70% also presented dolls to the children alone while 23% presented these with other toys.
