Blue-collar industrial workers at the Urals plant
Article Abstract:
The specific character of the social world of present blue-collar industrial workers employed in the metallurgy plant in the city of Nytva in Perm Blast in the Ural region of Russia is described. These workers are very poor, lack access to basic facilities like, schools, medicines or sometimes even food and this has made them negative minded making their social behavior irrational and socially very weak.

Is a "middle class" possible in rural communities?
Article Abstract:
The quality of life and standard of living in Irkutsk Oblast in Russia is analyzed to determine new forms of social and economic differentiation in population in rural communities. It is seen that in poorly developed rural communities lacking basic infrastructure there is no middle class in place and the prospect of its development are not too promising in the near future.
