Changeover delay and concurrent-schedule performance in domestic hens
Article Abstract:
A study of changeover delay and concurrent schedule performance in domestic hens and analysis of the data in relation to the generalized matching law reveals very low values of sensitivity parameters for response and time data for programmed changeover delay. Other changeover-delay values are associated with higher values of sensitivity parameters, with the within-delay responding being unresponsive to differences in reinforcement-rates at all changeover delays. The sensitivity of post-changeover-delay responding to reinforcement-rate differences is greater than that of total responding.

Open versus closed economies: performance of domestic hens under fixed-ratio schedules
Article Abstract:
The response of domestic hens under fixed-ratio schedules of food reinforcement varies with closed and open economies, and long and short sessions. The overall response and reinforcer rates decrease with increasing fixed-ratio requirement, while the running response rates decrease and postreinforcement pauses increase. However, in the long session closed economy, the overall response rates increase with the fixed-ratio requirement. Session length causes the differences between the short- and long-session closed-economy results.

Reinforcer efficacy in a delayed matching-to-sample task
Article Abstract:
A study using a series of variable-delay conditions was conducted to separate the effects of sample-choice and sample-reinforcer intervals on matching accuracy among domestic hens. The variable-delay conditions involved a constant sample-reinforcer interval at various sample-choice intervals. Analysis of results show that increasing the sample-choice interval had less effect on matching accuracy than when sample-reinforcer intervals are increased.
