Issues concerning the effect of cognitive-behavioral thereapy on obsessive-compulsive disorder are examined, focusing on a review of the literature that discusses treatment outcome. Topics include the nature of obsessive-compulsive disorder, its standing as the fourth most common psychological disorder, exposure and response prevention, frequency of treatment, role of therapist, and the positive aspects of cognitive-behavioral treatment.

The effectiveness of community practice interventions: A review of the literature
Article Abstract:
A review of the existing literature on community practice intervention research from 1985 to 2002 was conducted to assess the level of evidence available to guide community practice. It revealed a small number of quantitative intervention studies, which suggests the need for consideration of new ways to develop the evidence base for community practice.

Effectiveness of social work treatment and massage therapy for nursing home clients

An evaluation is presented of massage and social work services for nursing home patients, focusing on physical outcomes. Findings indicate that while results varied between individual patients due to their baseline capabilities, overall improvement was observed in patient physical functionality.
