Collaboration of social workers and attorneys in geriatric community based organizations
Article Abstract:
Elder law attorneys and social workers can learn a lot by working in collaboration with each other. Lawyers learn to see their client's issues more holistically and social service workers learn about legal issues. Community and senior service centers are a good place for lawyers join forces and work together.

Social work and law: a model for implementing social services in a law office
Article Abstract:
Several case studies are presented to demonstrate why a social worker is a valuable addition to a law firm specializing in the legal needs of the elderly. A social worker can analyze the clients long term needs and also advice caregivers and family members about services available to meet their needs.

A elder law attorney would be wise to partner with a geriatric care manager. The geriatric care manager usually comes from a nursing background and can access the client's needs and what the client's care will cost. A geriatric care manager can also explain difficult medical terminology.
