"Counterterrorism" and conventional military force: the relationship between political effect and utility
Article Abstract:
Effective counterterrorism may be performed through standard operational procedures and specialized responses of the military. Since terrorism has various political effects, the military's response to deter terroristic acts may be punitive but not as violent as the terroristic activity itself. Certain strategies need to be determined and executed properly to stop terroristic acts. However, defensive preparation against terrorism is a means to prevent such occurrences.
