From words to action: the relationship between group's value references and its likelihood of engaging in terrorism
Article Abstract:
The dynamics of terrorism through a content analysis of terrorist and nonterrorist groups' documents is explored. The findings from thirteen terrorist groups were matched with nonterrorist controls, and their documents indicate that the values groups express in their documents, particularly those they attribute to themselves, might predict whether they would engage in terrorism.

How new is the new terrorism?
Article Abstract:
The dominant view that the expressions of terrorism since the last decade of the twentieth century are fundamentally new is challenged. The new aspects of terrorism are questioned, such as the transnational nature of the perpetrators and their organizations, their religious inspiration and fanaticism, their use of weapons of mass destruction, and their indiscriminate targeting.
