Economic and political modes of strikes: a cross-national analysis of developed and less developed countries
Article Abstract:
The relevance of the national characteristics that are traditionally included in the analyses of strikes in developed Western countries with respect to the less developed countries are given. The results demonstrate that the unemployment and earnings significantly decrease strike volume while unionization and democracy increases strike volume and the sensitivity analysis shows that these results are robust and are not influenced by the quality of data.
