Ethnicity and health: key themes in a developing field
Article Abstract:
Ill health and access to health services is an important factor in inequality and access to health care is related to the ethnic status of those seeking the service. Ethnicity is variable in the analysis of health and health care which will have to be given due weightage in research as there is a need to provide for linguistic and cultural diversity.

The varying value of children: empirical results from eleven societies in Asia, Africa and Europe
Article Abstract:
The article evaluates value of children for their parents for different age groups and culture in 11 countries. It reveals that childrenEs importance for esteem and comfort is highest in countries with high fertility and low affluence though lowest in countries with low fertility, high affluence and state-based insurance system.

The value of children in Palestine and Turkey: differences and the consequences for fertility
Article Abstract:
Value of children is studied to explain the decrease in fertility rate in Turkey and stable high fertility rate in Palestine. It is found that children are more important for parent's comfort and esteem in Palestine.
