Global values shift and social work in America: Making positive change
Article Abstract:
World Values Survey Data measures changes in the nature of societal values shift since 1981 and this data is reviewed to determine how value shift is occurring worldwide an why this shift is occurring as it is. It is shown that the USA, instead of leading in the world in progressive social change, has actually regressed in terms of basic values associated with social work and national progress and changes in American family structure mirrors the regression in American social development.

Reverse mission: A model for international social work education and transformative intra-national practice
Article Abstract:
A reverse-mission approach to international social work is explored based on the efforts of global mission education. The reverse mission lays emphasis on learning, consciousness-raising, and advocating for changes in one's home country that can impact poverty and injustice in the world.
