History of major depressive disorder among smokers in cessation treatment: association with dysfunctional attitudes and coping
Article Abstract:
This article examines the relationship between dysfunctional attitudes and major depressive disorder among smokers in a cessation program. The authors maintain major depressive disorder among the smokers participating in the cessation program was related to higher levels of dysfunctional attitudes and maladaptive coping, suggesting they may be targets for cognitive-behavioral treatment.

The attitudes of youth smokers toward nine common smoking cessation approaches are examined. The majority of youth smokers report that they would never use the smoking cessation approaches that are commonly recommended for youth populations.
