Article Abstract:
While urban geographers agree that an appropriate rate for growth is needed, differences arise as to what can be considered an appropriate rate due to the uncertainty inherent in future planning. The author posits that long-term planning should include assessment methods to determine potential problems and target their cause, such as flaws in policy formulation or modeling procedure inadequacies.
