International terrorism on the eve of a new millennium
Article Abstract:
It is important to give attention to ways of averting acts of international terrorism as the 21st century approaches. Terrorists now have increased access to extremely powerful weapons, and it is therefore vital to stop them carrying out attacks, rather than simply making a response after an attack has been carried out. It is now time to reallocate powers in the battle against terrorism. It may even be appropriate to set up a new body with the sole responsibility of combatting terrorism in all its manifestations.

The nature of PKK terrorism in Turkey
Article Abstract:
The Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) has a tradition of terrorism in the name of Kurdish nationalism in Turkey but the republic as a whole must seek a political solution while fighting against terrorism. Kurdism is not monolithic, and many of the problems of Turkish Kurds arise from conflict between Kurdish peasantry and the often self-aggrandizing tribal leadership. Conversion to a federation will never be acceptable to Turkey, nor will talks with the PKK or its representatives.

From spikes to bombs: the rise of eco-terrorism
Article Abstract:
Eco-terrorism in the United States carried out by radical environmental groups began in the 1970s and peaked in the early 1990s. Greenpeace and groups such as Earth First! use eco-terrorism to throw a wrench into the gears of company's they feel are harming the earth, and to get press coverage of their cause. Like all terrorists, eco-terrorists have a deep belief in their cause. Such terrorism has waned in the 1990s.
