Jerusalem Media and Communication Center poll: one year after "autonomy."
Article Abstract:
Public opinion in Palestine continues to favor Yasser Arafat despite a growing disaffection with his administration. A 1995 survey conducted by the Jerusalem Media and Communication Center, one year after the self rule in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, supports the findings. Arafat's popularity rating is 60.9%, but support for the Palestinian police force has gone down from 71.9% in 1994 to 49.4% in 1995. Findings suggests that other political parties may gain in future elections. The survey also indicates popular apprehensions about the Israeli commitment to the peace agreement.

Water security as a factor in Arab-Israeli wars and emerging peace
Article Abstract:
Securing water use and supply from West Bank aquifers and from the Jordan river are the reasons behind Israel's war endeavors. Augmenting state's water resources may not have been the sole purpose of Israel, but securing access to tributaries and the aquifers that flow into it, and limiting extraction from the occupied areas, were the contributing factors to initiate war. Territorial augmentations gave Israel secure access to water resources of desirable quantity and quality.
